The Roach Family in, Zambia

April/May/June 2004

Dear Pastor and Church,

FAMILY

Greetings from Zambia! This time of year we begin to wear light jackets and sleep with blankets! We are praising the Lord that Tressa’s health is better. She brings a wonderful completeness in this ministry by her involvement with the ladies. It is awesome to watch her lead the pastors’ wives as they grow together in the Lord. Taylor is doing well in school. We are asking you to pray, as she will be taking her final exams to complete the 8th grade in July. It is hard to believe that we have been back on the field one full year already. Thank you for your prayers for our family.

"IN A NUTSHELL"

These past months have been packed. The Lord has blessed and answered so many prayers. Following is a very abbreviated report in order to be able to share everything with you: Brother Winsky (pilot who built the airplane) arrived safely to give our aviation ministry a 90-day jumpstart. The container arrived safely, except for some minor damage to the plane. We finished a great semester at the Bible Institute here in Ndola with 13 pastoral students completing classes. Two churches in the Copperbelt were officially organized. Three baby churches were started – One in Livingstone (Southern Province); one in Pima (Copperbelt Province); and one in Kasama (Northern Province). All three of these baby works were propagated by established works. Although it is difficult to retrieve exact numbers from village pastors due to lack of communication technology in their remote village locations (except for the beating of drums in the night) – about 65 souls have received Christ, 40 baptized, and 24 have started the discipleship program.

How does a missionary sufficiently say thank you? Without the Lord’s network of faithful prayer warriors, laborers behind the scenes made up of family and friends and financial support, this ministry multiplication process would not be possible. We are thankful for the teamwork He uses to produce the beautiful fruit of eternal souls.

FIRST, SECOND, & THIRD "MISSIONARY JOURNEYS"

Progress on the most recent enormous step toward "Sending The Gospel Light Into Every Province": Three major missionary journeys were made in the airplane in June – One to Pastor Atrie’s works in the Northwest Province; one to Pastor Cheelo’s works in the Southern Province; and one to Pastor Chitondo’s works in the Northern Province. Preaching, teaching, winning souls, meeting many people and some churches for the first time, helping to finalize deals on two church properties, and one building program – all accomplishments that would have taken many months and at least twice the amount of money if traveling by road. As pastors go into every province with the Gospel, we are now able to truly, by definition, "missionary" with them to expedite and geographically expand ministry – resulting in more souls, more pastors trained, and more churches established.

THANK YOU!!

Thank you so much for your daily faithful prayers and your continued financial support. All bicycles have been provided for!!! Thank you also for the special contribution designated for aviation fuel and expenses.

PLEASE HELP US BUILD!

Pastors that are faithfully building new churches in various provinces are in urgent need of our assistance with property/church buildings that will allow these works to continue to grow. Presently they are packed into small school classrooms with people standing outside to listen to the Gospel. God bless you all!
