The Rouch Family in Zambia
Jan/Feb 2005
Dear Pastor and Church,
How Beautiful Heaven Must Be…….
Rejoice with us as you recall a few months ago we reported about two dear little ladies in Kasama (Northern Province) who accepted the Lord. We recently received word from Pastor Chitondo that Mrs. Mutale, the 86 year “young” lady, went home to be with the Lord after walking home from church only a few weeks later. Praise the Lord Mrs. Mutale received the Gospel message a short time before her life here on earth ended! Taylor said, “Daddy, it’s almost like she waited all those years to hear about Jesus and then was ready to go.”
LBBOZ 2005 Family Reunion (Fellowship Meeting)
Our second annual LBBOZ fellowship meeting was a huge success! Pastors with their wives, pastors-in-training with their wives, and Sunday School teachers from the different provinces attended. Four missionary couples along with Zambian pastors and their wives worked hard together to prepare for our theme of “Equipped & Pressing Toward the Mark”, focusing on Ephesians Chapter 6. Six powerful messages on the armor of God, seven separate ladies’ and men’s teaching sessions equipped pastors and their wives to return to their churches with material resources and spiritual zeal like never before. Even the missionaries were overwhelmed with the heaven-sent revival. We have never seen anything like this in the 11 years of this ministry. Altars were full as Pastor Cheelo closed the meeting with a powerful message on the Sword of the Spirit!
One of the highlights of the “equipment” provided for the Zambian pastor’s wives was the presentation of flannel graph Sunday School lessons translated into their native language of Bemba. While demonstrating ways to illustrate and share these Sunday School lessons, the ladies eyes were as wide as saucers and their child-like interest was amazing. They now have stories to teach in their own language – and as we told them, “no one else in the world has a book like this one!” This is a tremendous jump forward in this ministry thanks to the team efforts of Tressa and two other missionary ladies. This will also be made available to other missionary wives.
Another highlight of the meeting was the ordination of three of the pastors by Gospel Light Baptist Church (their home church) here in Ndola. Pastor Chilala Cheelo (Southern Province), Pastor Atrie Kanengezha (Northwestern Province), and Pastor Stephen Kunda (Copperbelt Province) have all pastored faithfully for almost six years. These men have started and pastored a total of nine churches in three provinces. All three have Bible Institutes and pastors-in-training (PITs) – which attended the meeting with them. If their PITs go where they presently plan to go to start churches, the goal of “Into Every Province” should be reached in about three years.
Drum Beat….1 heavy + 2 light beats + soft smooth drum roll = “Rejoicing over 14”
Sshh…..Listen closely. Message we just received from Pastor Mulyata, Natebe Baptist Church, Natebe Village (18 miles from Livingstone) - via e-mail from Pastor Cheelo, Victory Bible Baptist Church, Livingstone (Southern Province) to missionary in Ndola (Copperbelt Province). But wait….is that only 14 in attendance, 14 saved, 14 baptized, 14 discipled this week, or 14 new babies born in the village….? A little exaggerated? Yes! However, not too far from the challenges of accurate monthly reporting from each of the Provinces. Although we do our best to communicate with the pastors in the various Provinces, it is often impossible to report accurate details of total souls saved and baptized. However, as co-laborers, please be assured the very life of all of our churches and Lighthouse Bible Baptist Outreach of Zambia is threefold: soul winning, baptizing, and one-on-one discipleship. That is our cause; that is our focus; and that is our life! One of the teaching sessions for the men at the fellowship meeting was the need for accurate and consistent reporting from the pastors and churches to the missionary on a monthly basis.
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and financial investment into the souls of the Zambian people. May God bless each one of you! We are praying for you too.
Partners in His Harvest,
Brother Charlie, Tressa & Taylor
