Mission Summary

The Lord's ministry that the Lord uses the Rouch family for here in Zambia is a soul-winning, church planting, pastor and Christian leader training ministry in the heart of the south-central part of the continent of Africa. Our sending church is Glenville Bible Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas.

We made the required application in Zambia for registration to work in this country, using "Lighthouse Bible Baptist Outreach of Zambia" as our registration name here. Lighthouse is a Bible Institute, large library, and location for starting inner city churches in Ndola (900,000). We have just organized the second church started in this facility. My wife, Tressa's, computer skills expedite the entire teaching process in assisting with the writing and development of almost all syllabus for myself, another missionary couple who teach, one former student now pastoring, and one former student now an evangelist who both teach. Hence, pastors are trained and sent out much quicker with better materials and syllabus of their own. I teach locally on Tuesdays and Thursdays and travel to other churches during the week to teach and our family generally travels together to the different churches on Sunday. Taylor, our 13 yr. old daughter teaches children and sings in the services.

The ministry here is almost 11 years old. Eight years ago, the Lord challenged us to look beyond our own little area of the country. There are 9 Provinces with a total population of 13 million people. The Lord led us to go "Into Every Province in 10 Years". With our own Bible Baptist Institute at Lighthouse Bible Baptist Outreach in the city of Ndola where we live, the Lord has blessed and we have seen trained men return to their own tribe and Province, win souls, establish Bible believing Baptist churches, who are now training more men for ministry in their "satellite" Bible Institutes. If all Pastors and men in training actually go to the Province as planned right now, every Province in Zambia is targeted by at least one Pastor or pastoral student.

Presently, we have 12 churches in 4 Provinces with 7 additional churches turned to other missionaries in better localities to those churches. The Lord has recently provided a four-place bush plane that enables us to teach and help pastors prepare those men, and not spend wasted days of expensive road travel over treacherous roads. It is not at all practical nor possible to expect called men to leave their menial lives of day to day survival for their families to travel to our Province to attend Bible Baptist Institute here in Ndola, such as we do in the States. So - we reverse that process by going to them. We no longer wonder if it will work. We know it works. We are very strong on discipling converts one on one just as we are winning souls one by one. Addition is great, but multiplication by our people to their own people is the way we believe this country can truly be won to Christ and taught to serve Him with their whole heart. If the works cannot or will not eventually stand with or without the missionary, we have failed to do our job. Our goal is to see the day when the missionary will no longer be needed in Zambia. Investing our lives for a nation of 13 million eternal souls is a privilege. "Into Every Province in 10 Years" has now been changed to "Sending the Gospel Light Into Every Province".
